IT support for schools in London
School IT carries a weight that office IT does not. The systems staff and pupils use every day sit inside your safeguarding position, and someone will eventually ask you to evidence that. We hold contracts with schools across London and look after the infrastructure underneath it — accounts, devices, patching, monitoring and the staff training that stops the obvious attacks working.
What schools are held to
None of this is our framework — it is the ground every school in England already stands on. We have set it out because it decides what your IT actually has to do.
Filtering and monitoring
Schools must have appropriate filters and monitoring in place, and governors must review and document how well they work at least once each academic year. The DfE publishes standards and a self-assessment service to check yourself against them.
Keeping Children Safe in Education
KCSIE is statutory guidance, not advice. Online safety sits inside it, which means the systems your staff and pupils use every day are part of your safeguarding position rather than separate from it.
DfE cyber security standards
The department's digital and technology standards cover the basics: multi-factor authentication, up-to-date software, backups that have actually been tested, and accounts that are removed when people leave.
Pupil and staff data
UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act apply to a school like any other organisation, with the added weight that much of the data concerns children.
Where we fit
We are the managed IT provider underneath your safeguarding duties, not the safeguarding product itself. That distinction matters, so here is exactly what we take on across the schools we hold contracts with.
Accounts and access
Multi-factor authentication across staff accounts, conditional access rules, and a joiner-and-leaver process so accounts close the day someone leaves rather than months later.
More on thisDevices and patching
Staff laptops and school devices managed through Intune, with patching on a schedule instead of a to-do list, and remote wipe if a device goes missing.
More on thisThreat monitoring
24/7 monitoring through our Microsoft Sentinel SOC, with endpoint detection on school devices. Term time or half term, someone is watching.
More on thisStaff phishing training
School inboxes are a target — finance requests, fake supplier invoices, spoofed head-teacher emails. We run simulations and training so staff have practice before it matters.
More on thisNetwork and Wi-Fi
Coverage that holds up across a school building — classrooms, halls and the corners of the site where the signal always dies. Plus segregated guest access for visitors.
More on thisA helpdesk staff will actually use
Teachers don't have a free period to sit in a ticket queue. Our desk runs to a 15-minute response target, and 91% of issues are resolved at first contact.
More on thisWhat we don't do
We do not sell filtering or monitoring software, and we will not tell you we can make a school compliant. Filtering and monitoring is a specialist area with its own vendors, and compliance belongs to your DSL and your governors.
What we will do is work alongside whichever filtering provider you use, and make sure everything underneath it holds up: devices enrolled and patched, accounts secured with MFA, monitoring running through the holidays, and records available when governors ask for evidence at the annual review.
Plenty of providers will tell a school whatever it wants to hear about Ofsted. We would rather you knew where our responsibility ends before you sign anything.

Starting with a school
Free IT audit
We review devices, your Microsoft 365 tenancy, network, backups and security posture, then tell you plainly what needs attention. No cost, and the findings are yours whoever you go with.
A proposal you can take to governors
Fixed monthly pricing from £99 a month, written so it can be read by someone who is not technical — because it usually has to be.
Onboarding around the timetable
Changeover work planned around teaching, with the bulk of it in holidays or outside school hours. We handle the handover from your outgoing provider.
Running IT in a school isn't like running it anywhere else — everything has to stand up to safeguarding scrutiny as well as work on a Monday morning. AM Networking understand that. They keep our systems patched and our staff accounts properly secured, they train our team to spot the phishing attempts that reach school inboxes, and when something breaks during the school day they answer quickly instead of leaving us in a queue. Having a team that knows our setup — and can show us what's been done when we need it for our own reviews — takes real pressure off.

Questions schools ask us
Do you provide filtering and monitoring?
No — and we would rather say so plainly. Filtering and monitoring is a specialist product area with its own vendors, and it is the part of KCSIE that Ofsted will ask about directly. We work alongside whichever provider you use, and make sure the infrastructure underneath it is sound: devices enrolled, accounts secured, patching current and logs available when you need evidence for your annual review.
Can you make us Ofsted compliant?
Nobody can sell you compliance, and be wary of anyone who says otherwise. Compliance sits with the school — your DSL, your governors, your policies. What we do is support the technical side so that when you are asked to evidence it, the answers exist.
How much does IT support cost a school?
Our plans run from £99 a month for Basic, £299 for Professional and £599 for Enterprise, with 17% off if you pay yearly. What a school actually needs depends on staff numbers and how much of the estate you want managed, which is what the free audit establishes before anyone quotes.
Do you work around the school day?
Yes. Remote support runs Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm UK time, with a 24/7 emergency line for anything critical. Work that disrupts teaching gets scheduled outside school hours or in holidays wherever it can be.
What happens when a staff laptop is lost?
If devices are enrolled in Intune, it can be locked and wiped remotely, and the account can have its sessions revoked immediately. Getting that in place before it happens is the whole point of device management.
Can you take over from our current provider?
Yes, and we do it regularly — including for schools already on our books. We handle the handover, including dealing with the outgoing provider, and plan the switch to keep disruption to a minimum. It starts with the free audit so you can see what you are actually running before you commit to anything.
Are you based near us?
Our office is at 86-90 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NE, in Shoreditch — so Tower Hamlets and the surrounding boroughs are on our doorstep for on-site visits.
